KBBA's summer wraps up with 14's in state tourney

The summer for baseball has wound up for the Kilgore Boys Baseball Association all-star teams.

The 14-and-under all-stars represented the KBBA in the most recent state tournament, in Center last weekend, but lost to teams from Livingston and Marshall on Sunday and Monday. The 14-U all-stars were De’Quincy Brown, Cason Cox, Raymond Espinoza, Jace Scott Eubanks, Cooper Harrison, Kain Hogue, Trent Lopez, Gage Nichols, Jared Adam Rich, Brendon Shannnon, Brayden West, and Colby Ryan Wilkerson. Jonathan Cox, Thomas Wilkerson and Jason Harrison coached the team.

It ended what had been a good 2018 for the KBBA: the organization officially opened its brand-new complex on Commerce Street, across from Stream-Flo Field and Driller Park, and then got a few teams to the state tournament level.

In addition to the 14’s, the 12-and-under team also competed at state, in Athens.

The KBBA’s 12-U all-stars this year were De’Marion Brown, Zevin Dent, Eduardo Chavez Espinosa, Cutter Gaudet, Joseph Mack Hendrickson, Blake Jarrett Kelley, Jason Chance Kirk, Connor Pendergast, Zachery Paul Rowland, Cole Steele, Wesley Hayden Trebing and Bransin Lee Waller. Their coaches were Robert Waller, Jason Brewer and Keon Pendergast.

The 9-U all-stars fell just short of reaching their state tournament. The 9’s this year were Blade Chitwood, Kaeson Clayton, Kason Henry, Jaxon Herrin, Lucas Gage Nelson, Axel Drake Sipes, Kellen Michael Smith, Devin Tinney, Davis Randall Wayne Tryon, Gavin Shane Wall, Jarred Allen Westerman and Chase Michael Wilcox. Joey Chitwood, Danny Henry and Eric Smith were the coaches.
