Juanita Dixie Wiggins Collins passed away on August 26 at the age of 90. Juanita was a 1946 graduate of Kilgore High School and resident of Kilgore until 2017.
She is survived by her children, Sam Collins and his wife Brenda, Steve Collins and his wife Sheree, Minette Collins Smith and her husband Greg and Kelly Collins Bentle; four brothers, J.B., Clyde, Harry and Joe Wiggins; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Cory, Clay, Eric, Robert and Chris Collins, Elizabeth Collins Stevens, Shelley Collins Scraver, Austin Smith, Zack and Tyler Bentle; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Maurice Collins; parents Martha Audrey and James Barton Wiggins; eldest son Ed Collins; her sister, four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, a son-in-law, two nieces and two nephews.
Juanita was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who also worked with Mother’s Day Out at Kilgore’s First Presbyterian Church and St. Luke’s United Methodist Church for many years.
The family will hold a private memorial and celebration of her life on Thanksgiving of this year and request that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to one of Juanita’s favorite places, The Kilgore Public Library. They also wish to thank the loving and kind nurses of LifeCare Health Services Hospice of Longview.
