A Celebration of Life for Janet Verna Morgan Lang, 65, of Gladewater, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, at Lighthouse Church of Liberty City with Rev. Jake Wommer officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. Janet went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 4, 2017, surrounded by her family at home.

Janet was born on January 30, 1952, in Longview to Jim and Vernice Morgan. She was a long time and faithful member of Lighthouse Church in Liberty City where she taught Sunday School for 32 years and served by cooking for her church family for all occasions. Janet loved to cook, sew, quilt, go to garage sales, take road trips with her family to Crystal Beach and was one of Elvis’ biggest fans. She was a wonderful mother, Meme, sister, Aunt Janet, friend, “child magnet” and a “second Momma” to many. She will be remembered for not being able to keep a secret and missed for her unconditional love.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Craig Morgan and wife Alison of Gladewater; grandchildren Hillary Nutt and wife Ashley of East Mountain, Colby Nutt and wife Nicole of Rexburg, Idaho, Devin Nutt of West Texas, Caitlynn Nutt of Lubbock, Dakota Morgan of Gladewater; great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Makayla, Easton and Olivia; sister and partner in crime, Sheron Patterson of Gladewater; brother, Rayford Morgan and wife Bridgett of Gladewater; nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Jenna, Alise, Angie, Lori, Misty, Christy, Mandy, Kerri, Brittany, Courtney and Lacy, as well as numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents and three brothers, Jimmy Dale, Jerry and Gary Morgan.

The family would like to thank Traditions Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Janet during the final days of her earthly journey.
