Two vehicles were involved in a wreck at the intersection of Highway 31 and FM 3053.
Both drivers were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries following the Wednesday afternoon wreck. A dog in one of the cars was reportedly shaken up but uninjured when someone came back to the scene to retrieve it, according to a Sabine firefighter.
According to DPS Trooper William Alston, a minivan was traveling westbound on Hwy. 31 when the driver struck a Trailblazer that was attempting to turn onto FM 3053. The wreck occurred at about 3:27 p.m. Wednesday.
The driver of the Trailblazer failed to yield right of way, according to Alston at the scene.
A third vehicle was hit also, but was not part of the wreck. Alston characterized the impact as collateral damage to the main two-vehicle wreck.
Sabine Fire Department Chief Richard Sisk and firefighters directed traffic as the lanes remained blocked before the scene could be cleared and the vehicles towed away from the area.
