Services for Edith Juanita Bailey, 98, Overton, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, March 10, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery.
Mrs. Bailey died Monday, March 6, 2017 in Tyler. She was born April 13, 1918 in Oil City, La., to the late William and Lucy Holland Blankingship. She graduated Atlanta High School and moved to Overton in 1940. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Overton.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Bailey was also preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas Long and Leonard Bailey; two sons, Thomas Jerry Long and Billy Joe Long; three brothers, Estel Blankingship, Everett Blankingship and Ernest Blankingship; and a step-daughter Alyssa Goforth.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and William Bumpass of Tyler; step-daughter, Sherry Dahl of Tallahassee, Fla.; eight grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at the funeral home.
