Downtown business ready to take deliveries during holiday season

For the Christmas season, Main Street Flowers & More is offering to accept packages, to make sure deliveries are safe from potential thieves.

The service is one that the downtown business offered years ago, but had since ended. After conversations with the Kilgore Police Department, though, owner Martha Fertitta and her team will be providing the option again.

“People can let us know that they’re sending us something, and then we can call them when it gets here,” Fertitta said.

The store must know ahead of time that the package is going to be shipped to their location or they cannot accept the delivery.

Due to the space needed to store the packages and the liability associated with accepting the deliveries, there is a charge of $3 per small package and $5 for larger packages.

The service is especially helpful, she said, if someone is going to be out of town and needs to make sure a package is delivered to a safe place.

Deliveries sent to Main Street Flowers & More will be received during store hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and held securely for up to a week.

Any packages shipped to Main Street Flowers & More should include the recipient’s name and Main Street Flowers & More, addressed to the store at 212 E Main Street, Kilgore, TX 75662.

For more information or to schedule a delivery, contact the store at 903-983-2320.
