Highland Park Baptist Church is hosting its fall festival tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Riley Pippen Family Life Center, on the church grounds. All ages are welcome. Games will be no cost. There will also be a cakewalk and concession stand open to raise money for the church’s youth group, and a bazaar and silent auction for Operation: Christmas Child shoeboxes. Come out for a large time!

A TRAIN SHOW will be held in the New Braunfels Civic Center on Seguin Avenue Saturday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, October 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults 14 and older, $2 for children 5-13. Four Kilgore ministers will debate the question “Why church?” in a 3 p.m. religious symposium Sunday in Kilgore College’s Devall Student Center Ballroom. The fifth annual event features Dr. Glenn Young, Rev. Ben Bagley, Rev. Jayson Galler and Rev. Will Wilson in a keynote, dialogue and Q&A moderated by KC’s Terry Booker. Actor Anthony Lawton will present his one-man stage adaptation of “The Great Divorce” by C.S. Lewis in a two-night run Oct. 27 in the Texan Theater. The Alzheimer's Support Group meets the second Monday of the month at 1 p.m. at Arabella of Kilgore, 2103 Chandler St.

THE PRIMETIMERS, a senior adult choir of First Baptist Church of Kilgore, invites any senior adult who wants to sing Christian songs and enjoy fellowship, to join them on Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. in the choir room, located at the back of the church.
