Concert association's tickets grant access to shows throughout region

Kilgore Community Concert Association volunteers scaled back their performance schedule this year, careful to invest donor dollars in quality entertainment with an eye for future seasons.

That said, while the 2017-2018 season includes four shows instead of the typical five or six of recent years, a season pass to KCCA’s lineup includes reciprocal admission at concerts throughout the region, including a Spring 2018 performance by the Texas A&M Singing Cadets.

The nonprofit organization has been hosting artists here since 1947, relying on patrons, sponsors and season ticket-holders to keep the operation thriving year-to-year. At $45 per adult, each season ticket sharply discounts admission from the at-the-door rate of $30 per show in addition to free admission to other productions by KCCA’s artist-partner, Nashville-based Live on Stage.

Student admission is still free at KCCA’s shows on the stage of Kilgore College’s Dodson Auditorium, and the 2017-2018 lineup kicks off at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, with ABBA Fab, “a tribute to some of the greatest music produced in the ‘70s and ‘80s, including monster hits such as ‘Waterloo,’ ‘Fernando,’ ‘Honey Honey,’ ‘Dancing Queen’ and countless others.”

The local season continues Oct. 17 with 3 Redneck Tenors followed by Tony Pace Jan. 22 and the Kilgore Chamber Orchestra Feb. 24.

Meanwhile, the KCCA season pass covers admission to reciprocal concerts in Terrell, Greenville, Livingston and Irving through May.

Traveling the Live on Stage circuit, ticket-holders can catch encore performances of ABBA Fab, 3 Redneck Tenors and Pace in addition to Sirens of Song, Hank & My Honky-Tonk Heroes, Allen Conner, The Quebe Sisters, Duo Baldo, Savannah jack, The Nelons, The Four Freshmen, a John Denver Tribute and the Texas A&M Singing Cadets.
