Clancy D. Fleming


A Celebration of Life for Mr. Clancy D. Fleming, 93, of Tyler, formerly of Kilgore, will be held on Saturday, December 30, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with his grandson-in-law, Rev. Kyle Hoover, officiating. Private family burial will take place in the Danville Cemetery. Mr. Fleming completed his earthly journey on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Tyler.

Clancy was born on December 6, 1924 in Charlie, Texas, to William Asbury and Madie Ethel Fleming. He dutifully and faithfully served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy in the Atlantic, Pacific, Caribbean, and Mediterranean. He married Mary Jean Dugger in 1949 and they spent the next 68 years making many loving and happy memories together. Clancy worked for Conoco Oil for 45 years until his retirement as a Production Foreman. His family was the source of his strength and spending time with them was when he was happiest.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jean of Tyler; children, Larry Fleming and wife Dana of Tyler, Mark Fleming and wife Susie of Freer, Julie Paris and husband Andrew of Halam, England; grandchildren, Christine Hoover and husband Kyle, Sarah Johnson and husband Travis, Mark Fleming and wife Nell, Austin Fleming and wife Michelle, Megan Fleming, Jonathan Paris, Becky Paris, Emily Paris; great-grandchildren, Will, Reese, Luke, Tyler, Cooper and Claire. Also left to carry on his legacy are numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family members.

Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers Billy Fleming and Morell Fleming and sister Mary Lee Nix.
