Mark Fried, music minister of Forest Home Baptist Church, provided a musical program of love songs for Civic Garden Club’s valentine-themed meeting recently. Hostesses were Karen May, Pam DeCeault, Gayla Young and Alma Nell Farmer. Young provided the beautiful centerpiece arrangement made by David Reeves for the festive refreshment table.

Following the musical program, President Kim Gore conducted the regular business session. Martha Clark offered the invocation.

The monthly horticulture tip was given by Pat Adams on the plumbago plant. It is a blue flowering plant that is similar to the butterly plant seen in our area. Although they are not too prevalent in East Texas, DeCeault mentioned that she has them in her yard.

Treasurer’s report was given by Martha Clark. Donations to Helping Hands and Boys and Girls Club were given. Reminders of upcoming events were given, emphasizing the District III Annual Meeting, March 8-9, in Jefferson.

The winner of the special Valentine Spa Basket was Faye King.

Attending were Pat Adams, Martha Clark, Pam DeCeault, Alma Nell Farmer, Kim Gore, Vicki Hodges, Pam Horton, Betty Hren, Joy Jordan, Faye King, Marilyn Martin, Karen May, Diana Ponder, Louise Raby, Marian Richardson, Patty Sanders, Rita Thompson, Judy Wilkins, Gayla Young, Brenda Beal, and guest Mark Fried.
