LAWANA SISTRUNK: Over 11 years ago after moving away, my husband Dale and I retired and moved back to Kilgore. We came home to be close to our family.
I have become very active in civic organizations including Beta Sigma Phi Sorority – Preceptor Lambda Delta Chapter. Through this organization I have made lifelong friends; it truly is a blessing as we renew our vows to uphold the honor and the aims of our glorious Sisterhood.
I am very active in my church, Forest Home Baptist, which Dale and I have joined since coming back to Kilgore. My interests have led me to join several civic organizations: Evergreen Garden Club, City Council of Garden Clubs, Woman’s Club, Kilgore Beautification Association, and Kilgore Church Women.
I truly love to be a part of the great-grandchildren’s lives by attending as many of their soccer, basketball, baseball games and dance recitals as possible. They are the joy of my life.
