A memorial service for Bonnie Sistrunk will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 17 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Friday, November 16 from at 6-8 p.m. at Radar Funeral Home, Kilgore.
She died peacefully on November 9, 2018, at the age of 73.
Bonnie was born on January 22, 1945 in Shreveport, La. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1963. She received a Business Degree from Norton Business School in Shreveport. She met her husband-to-be, Billy Wayne Sistrunk, at a summer church camp. They were married in June 1967 in Shreveport. Bonnie and Billy moved to Kilgore in 1969. They both became active members of St. Luke’s Methodist Church.
Mid-life, Bonnie enjoyed being a service dog trainer and had a couple of dogs she would take to visit several nursing homes and hospitals.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wayne Sistrunk, and her parents, Allen and Dagma Morgan.
She has two loving sisters, Dorthy Williams, Bossier City, La., and twin sister Betty Rowell, Broussard, La. She is survived by her children, Frances (Sistrunk) Ritter, Atlanta, Ga., John Sistrunk, Frisco, and Rebecca (Sistrunk) Stephenson, Kilgore; eight grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.
She will be buried next to Billy Wayne Sistrunk at the Danville Cemetery.
