Services for Billie Borders, 75, of Kilgore will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 27, at Highland Park Baptist Church with Reverend Riley Pippen and Reverend Brandon Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Rusk County Memorial Gardens. Ms. Borders went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
Billie was born January 19, 1943 in Bristow, Okla., to Bob and Margaret Gibbs. Her family moved to East Texas when she was a young girl. Billie attended New London public schools and was a 1961 graduate of New London High School.
After her retirement from Kilgore Independent Schools, Ms. Borders worked for St. Luke’s Methodist Church’s Mother’s Day Out Program as well as J and Company. Billie was a longtime member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed yard work but her true passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Dereck Borders and his wife Beverly of Kilgore, Daylen Borders and his wife Kara of Kilgore; a sister, Phyllis Harper and her husband John of Hideaway Lake; four grandchildren, Chelsi Thornton and her husband Burr of Temple, Sydni Borders of Kilgore, Chase Borders of Kilgore, Bryce Borders of Kilgore; a niece, Andrea Bates and her husband Shawn of Liberty City; an aunt, Hazel Stubblefield and her husband Bill of Bristow, Okla., and several cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening between 5:30-7 p.m.
