ANSWER: Splenda is made from sucralose, a poorly absorbable artificial sweetener. Sucralose does not raise blood sugars or insulin levels, so it will not increase your risk for diabetes. Visitation and viewing for Mr. Luis Sanchez Huerta, 36, of Kilgore was held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Huerta passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in a Dallas hospital. Graveside services will be held for Luis at Pantion de San Felipe de in Puebla, Mexico. more

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced Tuesday that Kilgore ISD had no legal grounds to lower or reject local option homestead exemptions for residents in their Gregg County tax base. In a press release from Paxton’s office, the AG lambasted districts for “brushing off” state laws by altering LOHEs. more

Kilgore High School’s Health Science Club is holding their first ever marathon challenge and 5K Color Dash next month. On March 23, runners will gather at the World’s Richest Acre for a 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run beginning at 7 a.m. Registration for the event costs $40, but students who go the extra mile can register for free. more
