14-U to play Sunday in Center

For weeks, and weeks, as the other all-star teams from the Kilgore Boys Baseball Association got to play their district and for some, their state tournaments, Kilgore’s 14-and-under all-star team just – practiced.

Now, it’s time for some action.

The boys will take the field Sunday morning in their age group’s state tournament, being played in Center, at 8 a.m. They don’t play Saturday; that’s because Kilgore drew the first-round bye. They’ll play the winner of Saturday’s Henderson-Livingston game.

Jonathan Cox, Thomas Wilkerson and Jason Harrison coach the 14-U all-stars, and the players representing this year are De’Quincy Brown, Cason Cox, Raymond Espinoza, Jace Scott Eubanks, Cooper Harrison, Kain Hogue, Trent Lopez, Gage Nichols, Jared Adam Rich, Brendon Shannnon, Brayden West, and Colby Ryan Wilkerson.

The 12-and-under KBBA all-stars just finished up the baseball portion of their summer, unfortunately, losing to Huntington one game shy of the 12-U state tournament’s finals. Their state tournament was played in Athens.

The 12-U all-stars this year were De’Marion Brown, Zevin Dent, Eduardo Chavez Espinosa, Cutter Gaudet, Joseph Mack Hendrickson, Blake Jarrett Kelley, Jason Chance Kirk, Connor Pendergast, Zachery Paul Rowland, Cole Steele, Wesley Hayden Trebing and Bransin Lee Waller. Their coaches were Robert Waller, Jason Brewer and Keon Pendergast.
