Chili cook-off plans a-bubblin'
If local retailers wonder why their antacid sales spike every November before Thanksgiving, they need look no further than the East Texas Oilmen’s Chili Cook-off. About 6,400 people flooded Commerce Street last year to sample the spicy selections of 100-plus oilfield chefs. They’ll return once again Nov. 8 for a two-hour all-you-can-eat (if you dare) charity fundraiser.
