ARCHIVE PHOTO This year’s Texas Two-Step fundraiser offers a bounty of prizes and entertainment for those who attend.

“We have approximately 25 silent-auction prizes this year,” said Pam DeCeault, president of the local Boys and Girls Club and a member of the Texas Two-Step committee.

“Everything from boots from Cavender’s to wine,” said DeCeault.

In addition to the silent auction, Texas Two-Step features a live auction. This year’s live auction features about 10 impressive prizes such as trips, vacations, dinners and beyond.

“For this year’s live auction, we have a fried fish dinner for 30,” said DeCeault.

In addition to the dinner for 30, prizes include a week’s stay in Mazatlan, an Oriental rug, a private jet for four to New Orleans and more to be revealed at the fundraiser.

“I’d say we’ve got some pretty impressive items this year,” said DeCeault.

In addition to this year’s auction, entertainment will be provided through the efforts of many, such as the event’s celebrity waiters.

“This year’s celebrity waiter judges CAN be bribed,” said De- Ceault.

Texas Two-Step veterans Richard Stuart and One Night Stand will provide this year’s musical entertainment.

“They have played for us the last three years,” said DeCeault. “They’re wonderful. They play a variety of music from country western to rock. They will have everyone on their feet.”

Private investigator and handwriting expert Don Lehew will provide handwriting analysis.

This year, DeCeault hopes for Texas Two-Step to break the $50,000 mark. Last year, the event gathered $41,000.

Proceeds from the auctions and celebrity waiters will go towards the Kilgore Boys and Girls Club and Kilgore Habitat for Humanity.

Texas Two-Step takes place Saturday, Jan. 28 at The National Guard Armory on Stone Road.

The fundraiser begins at 6 p.m. The silent auction will take place at 6:30, and the live auction at 8.

Tickets are $50 each, and are very limited in stock.

“There’s still a limited number of tickets available,” said DeCeault.

As with previous years, sponsorships are available for various prices.
