City aims to ‘raze and replace’

HOME grant brings $435,000 to assist five local homeowners

The City of Kilgore already helped put five homeowners in new houses through the HOME program, and a new cycle is in the works. In 2007, the city awarded grants from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, funded by the federal department of Housing and Urban Development. Those grants replaced four site-built homes and one manufactured home in town.
