My friend, Bob Barbee, has ALWAYS stepped up and addressed issues for Kilgore and Gregg County...with respect and dignity..a gentleman! I am grateful for ALL that Bob has done as Commissioner of Precinct 3....and with a smile on his face. Bob Barbee does not deserve this huge injustice!! I travel East Texas every day,either for business are hauling a bunch of kids to play ball.In my view Kilgore is WAY behind compared to some towns our size and smaller when it comes to the KBBA baseball complex. My problem is, that Mr. Barbee shouldn't have had to do the work in the first place. He saw that certain things needed to be done and did it!! I for one appreciate him for doing it . The Ice machine incedent is something I'm sure he is telling the truth about also ,(it was a ice machine not a bulldozer).I have known Mr Barbee for 40 + years,and I am proud of being one of those friends he plans to spend more time with. I think everyone should look at the whole picture. Mr Barbee did not work for Rusk County or the city of Kilgore he worked for Gregg County and spent Gregg County dollars on Rusk County and Kilgore projects. He had a ice machine at this personal place of business that Gregg County was paying for. That is all theft no matter how you look at it. So because he was doing for Kilgore and Rusk County should everyhthing be looked over and forgotten. No it is still theft if he wanted to give to Rusk County or to Kilgore he should have done it from his own pocket book. It makes you ask what else has he done that was not uncovered!

Thank you Bob for having the concern and drive to improve some of our fields and schools. As a taxpayer and mother of a KBBA baseball player and KISD student, I am happy that someone cares. I urge the people of Kilgore to take a look around at the surrounding areas and see if you're not just a little envious of the city sports complexes, school buildings, school auditoriums and football fields that these towns have. Kilgore is a nice town and deserves these nice things as much as any town close to our size does. Bob Barbee cares about the town of Kilgore, Gregg county and the citizens and the children of these areas and is willing to help out wherever he can. I appreciate you Bob!!!

I have known Mr. Barbee for many years from his duties as Kilgore city commissoner, Kilgore Mayor and Gregg County commissoner. Mr. Barbee has done great things for Gregg county. He has always been there for people in time of troubles such as bad storms. I remember Mr. Barbee staying up all night to help out when our area was stuck by a tornado. I know he always told me to call him if we need any help from county clearing roads from any storms. I feel we lost one of the best County Commissoner Gregg County every had. If Mr. Barbee was to run again for that office I would help him get votes to be re-elected. Yes, I think the ice machine was wrong...slap his wrist and make him pay back the money to county for the months he had the machine. I just hope that the county can find someone who cared like Mr. Barbee did, those shoes are going to be hard to fill.

I HAVE KNOWN MR. BARBEE MOST OF MY LIFE, HE IS A GREAT MAN. WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO DO TO HIM IS A GREAT INJUSTICE. HE WOULD HELP ANYBODY WITH ANY PROBLEM THEY HAVE. I WISH THERE WERE MORE PEOPLE LIKE HIM AROUND AND THIS WOULD BE A BETTER COMMUNITY. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE MR. BARBEE

I have the pleasure of knowing Bob Barbee for several years, and never meet a finer or more dedicated elected official, grandpa,or coach. Before anybody passes judgement on this good man consider the fact that everything he did was to help kids. I would like for Bob Barbee to know that I am behind him 100% and would like to thank him for everything he has done. And now that he is retiring I look forward to spending more time with him at Kilgore Boys Baseball Association.

Bob Barbee is a great man, who has done many things for this community over the years. And I think a great injustice is being commited aginst the residents of the community, and secondly Mr.Barbee, especially considering the minor infractions involved! Futhermore I think the majority of the community is appauled at the way this has been handled!! You just DONT slander a good man's reputation and livelihood, especially one who has given so much, for so long, for so little! Just my unbiased .02!

I think the people of precinct 3 should be proud of Mr. Barbee. Come on Gregg County, fixed up a baseball field and a Jr. High School in his precinct? How does this hurt Gregg County or the tax payers? I think Bob should be commended for stepping up and taking care of issues that the city and county have simply turned their backs on.
