The vigilant search to detect gas leaks was on Monday on Commerce Street, where three members of a leak surveying team from CenterPoint Energy checked for signs that a line might be leaking natural gas. “If there’s a chance there’s a leak, we come check it out,” said utility leader Herby Meshell. “This is what we do.”
