SO KOOL AID – the season calls it to mind – was invented in Hastings, Nebraska and a museum a museum there honors the 1950s favorite. IT’S still widely consumed, of course, but it was all-but everywhere in my youth because, I presume, it’s so doggone inexpensive. As I recall, a packet of Kool-Aid back in the day cost a dime and made a gallon of liquid.
