Outside work takes a toll in Texas heat

Searing temperatures and unrelenting August sunshine have prompted Kilgore area residents to get innovative about keeping their cool. It goes without saying that pets and children must not be left in cars for even a minute in the Texas heat. Most Texans rush from one air-conditioned environment to another until fall sets in for good, but some can’t avoid the heat.
