County looks to slash spending by 20 percent

Leaner times call for a streamlined budget. A proposed budget for fiscal year 2011 is taking shape in Gregg County, and in a year seeing budget cuts exceeding 20 percent almost across the board, only law enforcement – already lean - is being spared the budget knife, said County Judge Bill Stoudt.
