LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Appreciate Coach Val!
Dear Editor, When an old football coach moves on, numbers usually follow. Certainly the number of football games won and lost is important, and the number of trophies that followed. Very few get to count how many district and state championships that followed. For Coach Val and his staff it takes more than two hands to count.

i doubt this comment will

i doubt this comment will ever see the light of day but i have to say that all this gushing over coach val is somewhat tarnished. as the parent of two previous khs starting football players i feel an obligation to say that after a player has finished football, coach val (and the other coaches) have little concern for the welfare of the young man. not only have i seen this with my sons but SEVERAL other players were forgotten once they became non usefull to the football program. i also remember that two young men died soon after they graduated and NO coaches even bothered to attend the funerals. that alone showed me what the true story is. i hope some reality will sink in to this community!

Well said Chuck. Thank you

Well said Chuck. Thank you Coach Vallery for your wonderful leadership and for the lasting contribution you have made to our community through the young men whose lives you have touched. I will hold close to my heart the memories, season after season, as we watched our children grow up, some on the field, some in the stands, but always together on Friday nights at game time. We proudly celebrate you, your team, and your accomplishments. Best of luck. May God's blesings for you and yours continue to be many. The Terry-Payne families (KHS '35,'60,'61,'75 &'06).
