Gregg pledges $1 per person for broadband

Efforts to secure a $30 million federal grant to bring high-speed broadband communications to East Texas got a big boost Monday. Gregg County commissioners pledged $117,000 to the East Texas Council of Governments to help match federal grant funds from a $32 billion pot of stimulus money set aside for helping rural communities get up to speed on the internet.
