Park plan reordered by council

City would also like to relocate KBBA ball fields

New directions are ahead for the city’s parks master plan but the old business of completing the Meadowbrook Park facility on Houston heads the city’s to-do list. That was the primary objective identified at Tuesday’s city council work session on updating the parks, recreation and open space master plan.

I continue to read about a sporting complex in the Meadowbrook Park area. Have we forgotten how bad that area floods during some spring rains? I remember many times when Houston Street by the golf course was closed due to high water. It just doesn't make good sense to spend a lot of money developing an area that is flood prone which would result in ongoing maintenance costs to taxpayers.
