Museum docents learn the history of Mattie’s

The oil boom created many special memories for East Texans. A place called Mattie’s Ballroom was part of those special memories and provided a touch of elegance to those boom days. Mattie Castlebury was born in 1890, a selfmade woman who enjoyed meeting people. She created a legacy that lives today in her granddaughter, Martha Josey, from Marshall.
