That traffic congestion on Chandler Street during the school year could be a thing of the past before the new school year begins in August. The Kilgore city council Tuesday night accepted a $1.861 million bid to widen Chandler Street from the schools to Dudley Road. The project will include curbs, gutters, new pavement and a center turn lane all the way to Dudley.
