Schools celebrate black history

Maude Laird Middle School held its annual Black History Month program Friday morning, ‘Heritage & Horizons: An African- American Legacy. The student body heard performances by the MLMS band, choir and orchestra. Jerome Towns, director of special programs at KISD gave the welcome and history of the occasion.
