WE KNOW WHAT YOU’RE thinking: this has been an unusually cold and wet year. YOU’RE half right. +++ SINCE December 1 we’ve been significantly colder than normal. In the 75 days or so since Dec. 1, the National Weather Service has recorded 1,642 Heating Degree Days, compared to a normal number of 1,314 and last year’s 1,206.
