First and foremost I would

First and foremost I would like to extend my condolences to the Bradshaw family and specifically to Julie, Bitsy and Mrs. Bradshaw whom I had the opportunity to meet and know. I am a former student of West Rusk and remember Coach Bradshaw well. I also was a class member of his daughter Julie and remember Mrs. Bradshaw as a teacher very well along with Bitsy. I have been successful in my life and often I reflect back to those that I consider instrumental in my success as a person, a husband, a father, and then as a professional within my occupation. I reflect back at the age of 12 or 13 and recall a single conversation with Coach Bradshaw, when he told me, "If you want to be a leader, it takes more than thinking you are a leader, you must behave as a leader". At the time I did not understand what Coach was saying, but through life I reflect back to what Coach meant, and how ironic it would stay with me and have a profound affect on my life. I am 51 years old now, and that conversation took place over 35 years ago and yet it still resonates and is part of my life every day. While Coach is gone, his education continues and I do my best to pass on not just the words of Coach but the meaning behind it. I now live in California and I make it to East Texas every year and always take the opportunity to visit New London and the West Rusk Campus, and reminisce as I can still hear "Coach" doing what he did best "Coaching". Again condolences to the family and my God bless you and your family each and every day. Vernon Trimble
