New laws to change property appraisals

Capricious property valuations around the state may soon be a thing of the past. Changes to Texas law as of Jan. 1 requiring increased transparency and accountability of the state’s central appraisal districts are expected to benefit property taxpayers in Gregg and Rusk counties, as well as around the state.
