CodeRED system could begin in January for some

Funded by a Homeland Security grant for $221,000, a new high-speed emergency notification system that operates by phone is ready to go in 14 East Texas Counties, but it’s not a done deal in Gregg or Harrison counties. According to an announcement from the East Texas Council of Governments, the CodeRED system setup is projected to begin in January.
