Mrs. Phipps was a wonderful

Mrs. Phipps was a wonderful teacher. I remember her frog Gertrude. She is one of the reasons I am a teacher now. Thank you Mrs. Phipps. My prayers are with her family.

Miss Patsy was a lady of class. I recall many "Cousins Reunions" sitting around the table sharing stories of the old days from my grandmother(Flossie), Aunt Johnnie, Aunt Christine, Patsy & Shirley and laughing until we cried. Patsy was always perfectly coiffed from the top of her head to the soles of her feet. Every hair perfectly in place and make-up just so. I've come to realize that that kind of perfection is passed down from generation to generation. I think I come by that trait honestly - look at the women I have had as mentors. My sincerest sympathies to you. Patsy was a grand lady and will be missed dearly. Love to all, Shelby Ivy

I remember each year that we would go to the "Cousin's Reunion" my favorite part was hanging out with my Mimi (Flossie), Shirley and Stephen, and Patsy. It was so much fun to listen to them tell stories. We usually found a way to fit in a shopping trip. I just have such fond memories of Patsy. She was, like Mimi, always very "put together." She will be missed. I hope that your happy memories of her bring you comfort in the days to come. I know how hard it is to lose a parent; it doesn't matter how old you are. Love, Lori Reeves and family

Hello, David. I have thought

Hello, David. I have thought through this past summer I would like to go to Kilgore to see Pat and Shirley...now I have regrets. Your Mom was always so gracious. I am glad your step-brothers are there for you. My Mom loved your Mom and I know at one time they were very close and stayed in contact until Mother was unable to do that. I have been praying for you and ask the Lord to give you comfort and peace. Be blessed, Sarah

Mrs. Phipps was a wonderful

Mrs. Phipps was a wonderful lady and teacher. She was my 8th grade English teacher in 1975, who, along with Mark Mitchell, Franklin Richardson and myself help make for a very interesting class. That year ended up being a very trying one as we all had to deal with the very tragic passing of Mark. At that point, Mrs. Phipps, our teacher, became a very close friend and "mother" figure who helped comfort us as she too went through her own grieving. That particular class drew very close to each other and evolved into more than just an English class. She had a great passion for teaching and made learning an enjoyable process. God blessed me by having her as a mentor in my life and I feel as though I am a better person for it. Not only is she reunited with her parents and husband, but is also enjoying being with Mark again. May God bless and comfort this family during this time.

Patsy was always such a "special" cousin to me and gave so lovingly of herself to others over the years. She will be truly missed. We are sorry we won't be able to come to her memorial service but pleaae know that our thoughts and prayers are with you, her family, throughout this time of sorrow and over the coming months. Love, Florence and Charles and family.
