Joe A. Laird, a shorttime resident of Dallas and lifelong resident of Houston, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009. He was 92 years old. Mr. Laird was a fourth-generation member of prominent pioneer Kilgore area families, Thompson-Laird and Crim. On the road to the Territory Ahead he and his wife recently moved to Dallas in August to be near daughters Lisa Laird Hickok and Claudia M. Sommer.
