     The Kilgore Rotary Club’s Annual Fish Fry was a succes, with the club feeding 350 dinners said K Castles, Kilgore Rotarian.

KPD REPORTS
      Kilgore police officers worked 30 calls and made seven arrests on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Calls included: three attempted suicides; one shoplifter; one motor vehicle accident with no reported injuries; one 911 investigation; three suspicious persons; one for disorderly conduct; and eight for animal control. On Wednesday, officers worked 24 calls and made one arrest.

KC Theater Department presents ‘Steel Magnolias’ this week
      The Kilgore College Theatre Department continues its production of the comedy “Steel Magnolias” this week, with the final performance Sunday afternoon. Written by Robert Harling, the play tells the story of a close-knit circle of friends whose lives come together in a small parish in modern-day Louisiana.

Scouts begin food drive pick at 9 a.m. on Saturday
      Local scouts will be out Saturday to pick up the “Scouting for Food” bags they distributed to homes last weekend. Carolyn Holcombe, Cubmaster of Pack 251, said food bags will be picked up beginning around 9 a.m. Saturday and she asks those who filled their bags to place them in a visible spot so that scouts can easily find them.

      A pair of blow-out wins in the first round of the playoffs mean West Rusk will meet Li nden-Kildare in the second round of the playoffs Friday. The Raiders blew away Rosebud-Lott in Cedar Hill 42-6 on Thursday night and Linden-Kildare dispatched Harleton 22-8 on Friday.

Sabine Lady Cardinals whip Chapel Hill 38-31
      Sabine’s Lady Cardinals continued theiir winning ways Friday night with a 38-31 win over Chapel Hill. Ashley Gadsen led all scorers with 17 points. She also claimed 12 rebounds and 10 steals while recording one assist. The Lady Cardinals absolutely dominated in the firsthalf, leading 9-3 after the first quarter and 21-8 at the break.

Lady Dog JV downs Marshall in non-district game
      Kilgore’s junior varsity girls defeated Marshall in a non-district game 47-35 Friday night. Coach Jerry Reddic will take a mature team into district play. The JV team boasts two juniors, and three sophomores in addition to seven freshmen.
