      Rudolf Budginas, a native of Lithuania and now a resident of California, will present a piano concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in Dodson Auditorium at Kilgore College. This is the third event of the 2009-10 season of the Kilgore Community Concert Association.

Basketball season has begun at Kilgore College
      It’s hoops time. Brian Hoberecht, Kilgore College mens basketball coach, talked to Kilgore Lions Thursday about the new season. Hoberecht said he is excited about this year’s team, with five “really talented” freshman and a sixth possibly joining the team in December.

Kilgore’s water rates going up in January
      The city’s water customers will see slight increases in their rates beginning with the new year. Kilgore councilmen voted Tuesday night to raise the rates for residential and commercial customers inside and outside of the city limits.

Citizens can no longer dump brush/items at city hall
      For years, Kilgore citizens have dumped brush and other items in the “yard” behind city hall and the police station, but the city’s cleaning up its act and that courtesy is no longer offered.

      A resident who approached the city council Tuesday night about a burned-out street light prompted the city manager to ask for citizens’ help to keep all of the lights burning in Kilgore.
