Succulents topic for Kilgore Garden Club meeting

Kilgore Garden Club met Nov. 5 in the home of Cynthia Adams, with Birdie Barron as co-hostess.

Melynda Keenon opened the meeting with The Gardener’s Prayer. Cynthia Adams and Melynda Keenon reported on the District III Central Zone Fall Meeting in Jefferson.

Jean Robertson announced the Christmas lights in downtown Kilgore will be turned on Thursday, Nov. 19, and the Mt. Kilgore Snow Hill dates are Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11- 12.

Patsy Abernathy gave the program, “Big Help for Brown Thumbs” about succulents.

Martha Lee brought Carolina jasmine, Knock-Out roses and Lantana for horticulture.

Attending the meeting were Patsy Abernathy, Cynthia Adams, Darlene Bingham, Peggy Bowne, Helen Goodwin, Kalynn Harrison, Melynda Keenon, Martha Lee, Jean Robertson, Lana White and Kay Yates.

Darlene Bingham has arranged for the group’s next meeting to be held Thursday, Dec. 3, at Country Place Village, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with a luncheon, followed by the meeting.
