Kilgore police search for armed robber

Kilgore police are searching for a man who assaulted and robbed a bowling alley employee Friday evening.

Tammy Jennings, manager of Pappy’s Rock-N-Bowl, reported she was robbed by a tall, thin man wearing a stocking over his face. She told police the suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her as she was attempting to get in her vehicle.

She struggled with the suspect and was cut several times by “some type of edged weapon” before he fled with a bank bag filled with a large amount of money.

KPD received a call for help at 6:35 p.m. and immediately began searching for the suspect, according to Lt. Det. Roman Roberson, KPD public information officer. Kilgore K-9 officers Brady Middlebrooks and Jeroen searched the crime scene area but were unable to locate the attacker.

Jennings was taken by ambulance to Good Shepherd Medical Center, where Roberson said she was treated for several minor cuts.

“We ask that anyone with information about this crime to please contact the case detective, Sgt. Davis Merrell, to help us solve this case,” Roberson said.
Call Merrell at 903-983-1559 or you may also give information anonymously by calling Gregg County Crime Stoppers at 903-236-STOP. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for this crime.
