BASKETBALL

KC men open Sunday at home

Basketball season officially arrives for Kilgore College and its fans at 4 p.m. Sunday at Masters Gymnasium.

Coach Brian Hoberecht’s Rangers will tip off the season here against Cedar Valley. The Rangers have largely a new lineup from last year’s team, and will be home more this season than last.

In fact, KC has three games over the next week, all at home: against Cedar on Sunday; against Stephen F. Austin University’s junior varsity on Tuesday night at 7; and Saturday against Shorter College at 4. That’s actually the second half of a doubleheader. The Lady Rangers, coached by Roy Thomas, will officially open their season next Saturday at 2, also against Shorter.
