ELIJAH PERRY Funeral services for Elijah Perry, 54, of Kilgore will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at New Holy Chapel Church of God in Christ. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview under the direction of Victory Funeral Services. Mr. Perry was born Nov. 7, 1954, to Benford Jones and Emma Galloway Thurmond in Carthage. He died Oct. 11 in Longview. He was a 1973 Kilgore High School graduate and was employed by Skeeter Boats, Inc. He was a member of New Holy Chapel Church of God in Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Athens Perry and Willie Jones; and stepfather, Willis Thurmond. Survivors include his wife, Mae Perry of Kilgore; two sons, Demos Perry and Brian Perry, both of Kilgore; three daughters, Akiesha Perry and Chenika Perry, both of Kilgore, and Temika Perry of Houston; three sisters, Virgie Van Zandt of Turnertown, Penny Marshall of Carthage and Flossie Roberts of Fort Worth; and Cora Reddic of Dallas. Public viewing will begin noon Wednesday, Oct. 14, with the family receiving friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Victory Funeral Services.
