It¹s almost a clean sweep now for the Kilgore High School tennis team.
The Bulldogs defeated Henderson in Henderson on Tuesday afternoon to run
their District 14-4A record this fall season to a perfect 4-0. Kilgore is
off this weekend, and hosts Nacogdoches in the final district matchup of the
fall on Tuesday. If KHS wins, it¹s another district championship.
³All the players played pretty well,² coach Jason Maroney said, ³and we did
a good job of putting matches away. Chelsey Cox played the most competitive
match, and did a good job regaining her focus in the third set and closing
the match out convincingly.²
Kilgore beat Henderson 10-0 officially, and 20-1 overall.
All the Kilgore boys won their singles matches against the Lions. No. 1 Josh
Way beat Viresh Patel, 6-1, 6-0; Jody Madding beat Austin Yarborough, 8-0;

In girls singles, it was practically all Kilgore. Cox beat Jelissa Pollard,
