JACK G. LEAK, JR. JACK G. LEAK, JR. Funeral Services for Mr. Jack G. Leak, Jr., 85, of Longview will be held Saturday, October, 10, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Peatown Christian Church with Dr. Jim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Peatown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mr. Leak passed away Tuesday.
He was born October 19, 1923, in Longview, son of the late Jack G. and Carrie Lois Leak. Mr. Leak was a member of First Christian Church of Longview. He worked as a machinist and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and had been a reservist with the Gregg County Sheriff’s Department. Jack will be remembered by his family as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Mr. Leak is survived by his wife of 67 years, Essie Mae Leak of Longview; children, Jack D. Leak Sr. and wife Judy of Longview, Bill Leak of Longview, Pat Davis and husband Leon of Longview, Linda Birdwell and husband Mike of Highland Village and Carol Ann Smith and husband Dennis of Longview; sister, Virginia Ann Jones and husband Joe of Longview; eight grandchildren, Jack D. Leak, Jr., Jaysen Leak, Skyler Leak, Stormy Leak, Jim Davis, Jeanette Cobb, Stephen Bair and Suzanne Wierwille; eight great-grandchildren.
