Kilgore's sales tax allocation check in September dropped by almost 35 percent and more than $300,000 compared to the same period last year, according to the Texas Comptroller's Office. Last week the city received a check for $700,156.58, down 34.64 percent from the $1,071,387.05 received last September. The city's tax rate is 1.5 percent.
