CHARLES ERVIN OSBORNE, SR.

Graveside services for Mr. Charles Ervin Osborne, Sr., 79, of Kilgore will be held Friday, September 18, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Kilgore Cemetery with Reverend Darwood Galaway officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mr. Osborne passed away Sunday in a Longview hospital.

Charles Osborne was born February 20, 1930, in Pyote, Texas, son of the late B.E. and Matilda Osborne. Charles retired from Lone Star Steel and had served his country in the United States Navy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed camping and traveling.

Charles was a member of Danville Masonic Lodge #101, Sharon Shrine Temple and the Coffee Club at Circle Café. He was a Christian who loved his Lord and will be remembered by his family and friends as a man who loved a good joke and having fun.

Mr. Osborne is survived by his children, Charles Osborne, Jr. and Jaime Zaldivar of Washington D.C., Millis Finnegan and husband John of Flint, Mikki Ellis and husband Dennis of Kilgore; grandsons, Daniel Ellis and Matthew Ellis both of Kilgore; sisters, Venita Bosley Holliday of Tyler and Nancy Daugherty of Allen; aunt, Corinne Beckworth; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
