JON STEPHEN 'STEVE' THOMPSON

Private wake services will be held by the family, according to his wishes, at a future date.

Steve passed from this earth on September 7, 2009, at Country Place Village in Kilgore, Texas, where he had been a resident for some time. Our appreciation goes out to all the staff, friends and a special friend, Linda Ross, Longview, Texas, that have assisted him during his convalescence.

Steve entered this world on July 9, 1956, in Effingham, Ill. He graduated from Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1974. Upon moving to East Texas, Steve worked various construction jobs in the Henderson area and nationwide.

Steve is survived by his mother, Linda Thompson Perry, Temple, Texas; brother, Douglas Thompson, Angleton, Texas; and sisters, Tanya Thompson Travis, Deer Park, Texas, Lynn Thompson Southerland, Belton, Texas; one niece and three nephews. He is also survived by two step-brothers, Dr. William Perry III, Homestead, Fla., Frank Perry, String Town, Texas; and a step-sister, Nancy Perry Hale, Kilgore, Texas; one step-niece and three step-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Robert "Bob" Thompson, and sister, Heather Thompson Smith, and step father, William "Bud" Perry.
