A WINNING PERSONALITY — Leverett's Chapel sophomore Tiphany Baker shows off her two trophies after setting 18 records at the NASA Championship meet in Gilmer on Saturday. The records just keep coming for Leverett's Chapel sophomore Tiphany Baker.

Baker competed last weekend at a National Athletes Strong Association (NASA) championship meet in Gilmer, and set 18 records on Saturday alone in her girls' 148-pound class. The records were set unequipped, just a belt and knee wraps.

"I enjoyed the meet very much," Baker said. "It was fun finding out what I could do without my suits. I know now that I can do even better."

Baker was entered in both the high school and juniors categories. She set records in state, American and World in all four categories (squats, press, deadlift and total).

Baker set state records in both junior and high school in squats, an American record in squats and a world record in both juniors and high school with 112.5 kilos, or 248.02 pounds.

In the press, Baker set a state record in the juniors division, and world records in both high school and junior divisions with 50 kilos, or 110.23 pounds,.

Baker set state records in both high school and junior divisions in deadlift. She also set an American record and World record in both high school and junior divisions with 122.5 kilos, or 270.06 pounds.

And total, she lifted 285 kilos, or 628 pounds, and got five more records.

Tiphany's next meet is Oct. 3 in Tyler.
