REV. KENT R. JACKSON

Funeral services for the Rev. Kent R. Jackson, 68, of Paducah, Ky., were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Lone Oak First Baptist Church with burial following at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. He died Tuesday, Aug. 25, at his home.

Kent was born Nov. 19, 1940 in Windsor, Mo., to Belford and Mildred Ruffin Jackson. He was a 1964 graduate of the University of Missouri and a 1966 graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His career as Minister of Music spanned several decades and he served several churches, including First Baptist Church in Kilgore (1966- 1972).

Survivors include his wife, Lucretia Robinson Jackson; one son, Dr. Brad Jackson of Denver; one daughter, Melissa Hawkins and husband Spencer of Paducah; three grandchildren; one brother, Dr. Darrell Jackson and wife Ann of Lohman, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
