Kilgore sales tax allocations down again

Kilgore's sales tax allocation check in August dropped by 36 percent and more than $427,000 compared to the same period last year, according to the Texas Comptroller's Office. This week the city received a check for $758,840.24, down 36.03 percent from the $1,186,388.25 received last August. The city's tax rate is 1.5 percent. More...

Memorial to be built for C.B. Dansby High

The city council voted Tuesday night to donate land to only one of two alumni groups vying to build a memorial to Kilgore's all-black high school. The Kilgore Colored High School-C.B.
