TEXAS SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL GUILD members will bid farewell to the 2009 TSF Company with a covereddish "Strike Day Dinner" 5:30 p.m. Aug. 3 in Christ the King Catholic Church's Parish Hall. All guild members are asked to bring a covered dish "in good quantity" according to their last initial. Those with last names ending in A-G are asked to bring a salad; H-O, dessert; and P-Z, side dish. Extra items, especially meats and vegetarian dishes, are welcomed.

ALL-DAY GENEALOGICAL SEMINAR set Aug. 8 in the Hart-Morris Conservation Center at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, Athens. National lecturer and author Desmond Walls Allen will be the featured speaker, and her program will be titled "Preserving Your Family Papers, Photographs and Heirlooms."
